This migration scenario describes a typical 15 user IMAP email to Microsoft 365 migration with 100GB of local shared data to Microsoft OneDrive for Business or SharePoint.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TYPICAL MICROSOFT 365 CLOUD MIGRATION?

This migration scenario describes a typical 15 user IMAP email to Microsoft 365 migration with 100GB of local shared data to Microsoft OneDrive for Business or SharePoint.

1. An audit of your existing email accounts and data points takes please – total data sizes are calculated and placed into our project tracking system. We use this info to calculate the data migration timeline.

2. Records of all data sharing permissions and folder structures are taken.

3. If we are moving emails from an older IMAP or POP3 email platform we securely collect and store all user account passwords.

4. Email accounts and OneDrive shared folders are setup on Microsoft 365.

5. Our Cloud synchronisation tool is setup with the source and destination email accounts and an initial pass is made to verify connectivity.

6. On a chosen weekend a full copy of email and data is securely made, and email connectivity is switched over to Microsoft.

7. All user email accounts and data accessed are verified and tested and mobile email access setup.

8. Multi-factor authentication and passwords are reset. Migration complete.
